Hope Village Zambia

Providing a safe shelter for teen girls at risk of being forced into early child marriage.

Watch this walkthrough video of the completed dorm!

Due to cultural traditions, and extreme poverty, 1 in 10 girls in Zambia is forced into early child marriage. Once married, these girls often become mothers right away, and their education comes to an end. Without the chance to finish school, they are unable to pursue a career or their dreams, trapping them and their families in the cycle of poverty.

Hope Village Zambia was built in partnership with iDream school, a remote village school that serves underprivileged students in the Ndola region of Zambia. It was built to give teen girls a safe and caring environment to live in, while completing their schooling- free of the threat of early marriage. Finishing school allows these girls to pursue careers, breaking the cycle of poverty for themselves, their families, and their communities.

The first dorm of Hope Village Zambia currently houses 12 amazing teen girls and 2 dorm mothers. We are just getting started! The long-term vision for Hope Village Zambia is to provide homes for dozens of girls and put an end to the practice of early forced child marriage in the local communities.

Your donations and monthly sponsorships empower teen girls at-risk of early forced marriage to pursue their dreams by providing them with a safe and supportive home at Hope Village Zambia. Your gift covers a girl’s living expenses and protects her from the dangers of forced child marriage, giving her the opportunity to build a brighter future.

Thank you for being a part of this truly life-changing project!
